Kristian ko
ABOUT KRISTIAN
Kristian Ko is a violinist working out of the DC, Virginia, Maryland area. Kristian graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance and studied violin performance for two years at Binghamton University, where she was concertmaster of the university orchestra. She studied under many accomplished musicians such as Diana LeGrand (concertmaster of the Pan American Symphony Orchestra), Dr. William Terwilliger, Ari Streisfeld, and Noemi Milaradovic.
Kristian currently performs as a freelance orchestra violinist in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area and has performed with numerous groups along the East Coast such as the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Long Bay Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Augusta, the National Christian Choir, Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Association, Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra, and is a regular member of the Northern Neck Orchestra. She also regular performs at private events, weddings, chamber concerts, and more!
Kristian mainly focuses on Western Classical techniques and repertoire and has over 10 years of experience teaching, coaching and teaching sectionals at multiple events in South Carolina, New York, and Virginia including the local Franklin Band and Orchestra Summer Camp and the Muse Chamber Groups held at Studio Muse.
She has been teaching privately since 2013 and currently teaches at Studio Muse as a violin and viola teacher and has recently joined the non-profit organization, Music for Life, that provides free, private lessons for students for low-income families.
